These notebooks are made from Areca Palm sheaths that have fallen from the tree naturally. This occurs seasonally, but plantation owners have historically had no way to dispose of them other than by burning, which has has caused tremendous air pollution in the villages and increased respiratory problems for the locals.

The palm leaves are treated with a chemical free bioliquid to transform the dry brittle material to one that is soft and malleable, bringing out the natural lustre of the leaf
